Chinese "Yongzheng" Porcelain Teapot
Small, hand painted, blue and white decorative porcelain teapot with a flat lotus-like design. This lovely 20th century piece has on its bottom the "Da Qing Yongzheng nian zhi" mark, which translates as "Made during the Yongzheng reign of the Great Qing dynasty", indicating creation between 1723 and 1736. However, this teapot is not a "fake". Rather, it acknowledges a stylistic connection with pieces made during the Yongzheng period. In a sense, it pays homage to the quality and style of that period and implies that this porcelain teapot is made with the same quality and style as teapots from the Yongzheng period. No cracks or chips. Silk Road Collection is proud to offer this Oriental treasure from the estate of Vaughn L. Banting, the noted collector, author, and bonsai expert.
