This grand, 150+ years old, Chinese armoire combines beauty with ample storage space. The black lacquered finish on this cabinet has a medium sheen and is painted with images of flowers, birds and other geometric shapes. The subtle hues of red, golden-yellow, green and white on the black lacquered finish creates a classic Chinese elegant look. While much of the painting seems to be original, some has been retouched and there are "age" cracks on the doors. In traditional Chinese craftsmanship, the door are removable. It features one removable shelf and has other shelf supports so it can accommodate a second one as well. The bottom area is large so it can accommodate blankets, pillows, shoes, etc.
