Use pieces of furniture in unintended ways to make a room more interesting.

Today we all understand using an antique armoire intended for clothing to instead house a plasma TV, DVD & CD player or a computer.

Continue to think creatively:

Substitute a door’s glass area with a mirror and hang it on the wall,

Use a tree stump as a table or an ottoman,

Place a flower box with flowers on the inside of a sunny window,

Use a Chinese wooden screen as the headboard for a bed,

Place a church pew in a hallway,

Faux paint old wooden furniture,

Use a wooden dresser as a bathroom vanity,

Use a small table or chest as a pedestal for a glass table,

Use elephant ear or ginger plant leaves to serve food on,

Or hang a quilt on a wall.
