Kitchen Cabinets

Kitchen cabinets eat up 4 8% of a kitchen remodeling budget; whereas appliances are only 8%. WOW!!!

So to save money, Install the cabinets yourself, if you can, Buy one large cabinet instead of two smaller ones, Select veneer, as it cost less than solid wood, Forego luxury items like glass doors, plate racks, trim and molding as they add to the cost, or Just give your existing cabinets a facelift.

There are two types of cabinet construction.

1st, Face frame. This has solid wood frame between the doors, mounted exterior hinges, and is a traditional design.

2nd, Frameless. This is a contemporary design, with door hinges on the side of the cabinets and no wood in-between doors.

For a unique touch, mount an interesting antique cabinet to the wall or use a previously junked cabinet as your freestanding kitchen island table.
