Balance of a room. No Iím not talk about our un-level homes in New Orleans. Iím talking about the visually balanced look of a successfully designed room; where everything seems properly placed in the room.
Lets consider Two Basic Methods of Balance:
Classic symmetry, this is traditional style. One-half of the room mirrors the other side. Coffee table in middle under the chandelier with sofas one both sides. Art in the middle of two windows and this arrangement repeated on the opposite wall of the room.
Asymmetrical-this is a causal & modern style. Where there is a perceived relationship of balanceóit is not equal but it appears balanced. A fireplace centered on a wall with a large armoire on one side, visually balanced, with a large window on the other side.
