Rare Ceremonial Meat Box from the Philippines

A heavy hollowed out piece of wood forms the box's bowl area. The exterior of the bowl has been treated with Tung Oil and is smooth while the interior reveal the wood grain and the carving technique. On each side are very small lifting handles. The cover to the box is weaved with wooden supports. It is a dark drown. It is assumed this box was used to contain meat offerings during worship ceremonies.
