Round Chinese Wooden Screen Room Divider

SOLD. Black background on this round 4-panel folding Chinese screen. The scene is of Chinese village life, primarily in hues of gold. Extra think lacquer is used to impart the design with a bas relief three dimensionality. The base support of the screen has paintings of Chinese mythological beasts. The back of the screen has painted Chinese characters comprising a poem about the scene on the front.
